Why did Kari Dream up Family Fun Guide?
.jpg) First of all - for the PARENTS! Here's how it all began: In 2006, Kari started a Local Moms Get-Together Group which rapidly blossomed to have over 340 members! The group would meet at venues such as indoor playgrounds, amusement parks etc. Members of the group had one thing in common...an insatiable appetite to find out what events are on, as well as which products, activities and services were most recommended!! Word-of-mouth and an efficient way to access up-to-date information is key! Family Fun Guide possesses the grass roots vibe evolution of a Local Moms group to a much needed comprehensive website, providing the best word of mouth online to a growing list of enthusiastic parents.
And of course - for the FAMILY-ORIENTED BUSINESS OWNERS!
So... why does Kari care so much about them? It's because she has had first-hand experience and insights as a small business owner geared toward families. For three enjoyable years, Kari owned and operated a home daycare business. She noted that there should be a better way for small companies, like hers, to have a 'profile page', kind of like a Myspace page - where she could post photos of her facility and families could get all the information they need from the link. This means that small business owners, who would otherwise not have created a website - could do just as well with the space available of a Profile Page. And Kari recognized that in order for any online directory to be the most complete, it had to be affordable for all businesses, including the neighborhood daycare! So Family Fun Guide would offer ten fold what other online directories offer, and charge a fraction of the cost....for the overall betterment of a more complete directory, by creating savings for each company.
What Makes FFG Unique?
Existing directories didn't cut it for our local moms group. Most of the directories before us, did not always offer more than a simple connection to the companies website. Therefore, not offering anything more than what we could have found if we had just googled the company.
We wanted a more efficient way to find out details like company hours, admission, neatly laid out all in one spot - such as a profile page. So it's in the same spot for every company and easy for us to use! We get this elaborate on Facebook and Myspace - why shouldn't we have something as good for us in our lives as parents for a directory?
Over a year of development later - Family Fun Guide was born! Here is it! Thousands of visitors have embraced our site and rewarded its content and reliability with continuous hits. Thanks readers! We love you too!

This website is dedicated to my parents, who inspire me in every way.
Dad, I still vividly remember how proud I was in fifth grade, when you had videotaped portions of my entire little league softball season and put the clips to music, 'See Me Beautiful' and made a VHS tape of it for all the members of my team!
Mom, I cherish the memories we made when I was in grade 8 and we took horseback riding lessons together on Wednesday nights! I remember my horse's name was Socks because he had white feet! I remember your smiling face at Concordia Pool while I was in my maroon level of swimming lessons! You were always there to cheer me on!
You took my hand and we walked side by side. Learning together, we laughed and we cried. And when I needed you, you had the time to spare...I guess that's the reason why - we will always be friends..
For the organizations and businesses that provide the type of services that allows children to create these kinds of fond memories!
